What is the Kompakt™ font?

Designed by Hermann Zapf and released by the Stempel type foundry in 1954, Kompakt is a heavy, almost roughly shaped display face.
One of the most famous and prolific type designers of the 20th century, Zapf is best-known for his very popular Palatino and Optima typefaces.
Kompakt is slightly inclined, with a large x-height and very short ascenders and descenders, and is easily recognized by the diamond-shaped dots above the i and j. More…
Designed primarily for commercial use, it is very effective when applied frugally to advertising and job work.
