What is the Ellington® font?
Michael Harvey designed Ellington for Monotype in 1990. Ellington (named after jazz musician and composer, Duke Ellington) is a text typeface that has a definite calligraphic influence that creates a lively and interesting page.
Harvey, a stone carver and lettering artist, is sensitive to the needs of graphic designers, and so designed Ellington with a tall x-height and narrow width, making it accommodating for both economy of space in short texts, and for display work as well.
