What is the Aeneas font?

Aeneas is a titling and display typeface designed by John Hudson. It is inspired by modern calligraphic interpretations of classical Roman capitals by German lettering artists, particularly the work of Werner Schneider, on which it is closely modelled. The Aeneas family contains three weights (regular, light and dark), and each weight is supplemented by a set of alternate, swash and ligatured characters, inspired by renaissance manuscript forms, as well as a wide range of European diacritics. Used alone, the base fonts possess a refined, formally austere quality, ideal for titling. The alternate sets allow a touch of whimsy or unrestrained extravagance in display settings.
