High School Rugby

High School Rugby refers to the sport of rugby played at the high school level, typically involving students aged 14 to 18. High school rugby is a competitive team sport in which two teams, consisting of players usually ranging from 15 to 30 members, compete to score points by carrying, passing, and kicking an oval-shaped ball to achieve tries (touching the ball down over the opponent’s goal line) or scoring through goal kicks.

The game is governed by the laws of rugby union or rugby league, depending on the style being played. High school rugby aims to promote teamwork, physical fitness, and sportsmanship among adolescents while providing a platform for talent development and competition.

Rugby at this level often features school tournaments, regional championships, and opportunities for players to advance to higher levels of the sport, including collegiate and professional pathways. The sport encourages camaraderie and personal development, making it a popular extracurricular activity in many educational institutions.
