What is the Highground font?

Highground is a fun typeface for your punk band to make shitty posters to hang on electrical poles around town.
Growing up playing DIY metal & punk shows was the inspiration behind this typeface. The Highground was a venue off of Veteran’s boulevard in New Orleans, LA that has tragically shut down. Highground the typeface is an ode to Highground the venue. It attempts to capture the punk & metal spirit of the venue and the feeling it evoked for my friends and I when playing and attending shows there. More…
Highground was developed over a year of attending [email protected] West ’16 in San Francisco. The early stages of Highground were inspired by Nicholas Jenson’s Rotunda.
Highground still has a twinkle of that inspiration, but it has seen a dramatic shift in goals and aesthetic. A write up on the process will be on my medium account soon.
